The current build for Windows. Downloading needs an account and a valid licence — the trial itself is started inside the application afterwards.

Requirements
- Windows 10 or 11, 64 bit
- UniFi Talk on a Dream Machine, UDM Pro, UDM SE or a Cloud Gateway
- An extension created there as a third-party SIP device
- Network access to the system, on the LAN or over VPN
- Optional: a CardDAV server such as Nextcloud for contacts
How to start the trial
The trial is not booked here but started in the application. It runs for fourteen days, is bound to the device and needs no payment details.

Installation and updates
- The installer (.exe or .msi) sets NXFone up like any other Windows application. No browser tab and no extra server are needed.
- On first launch, the setup assistant walks you through the connection to UniFi Talk: enter the address of your system, the extension and the SIP credentials, and you are done.
- NXFone keeps SIP and CardDAV passwords in the Windows Credential Manager, not in a readable configuration file.
- NXFone checks on its own whether a new version is available and offers the update right inside the application. Settings and call history are kept.
- Use the SHA-256 value above to check that the file arrived unchanged: run Get-FileHash on the downloaded file in PowerShell and compare the values.
Installation questions
- Is NXFone available for macOS or Linux?
- No. NXFone is a native Windows application for the 64-bit editions of Windows 10 and 11. There is no version for macOS or Linux.
- On how many computers may I install NXFone?
- Each licence runs on two devices at the same time, for example the desk PC and a notebook. The term changes the price, not the features. The trial is tied to the device on which it was started.
- Does NXFone ring when its window is closed?
- Yes. If you like, NXFone starts with Windows and stays in the notification area of the taskbar. Incoming calls then open their own call window even while the main window is closed.
- Does telephony run through an NXFone server?
- No. NXFone registers directly with your UniFi Talk system, on the local network or over VPN. Calls and contacts do not pass through an intermediate cloud server.
- How do I set up the extension in UniFi Talk?
- The extension is created in the UniFi console as a third-party SIP device. The setup guide shows which fields to fill in there and how the data gets into NXFone, with a screenshot for every step.
